Emu Creek Waste Management Facility

The Emu Creek Waste Management Facility was permanently closed on 1 June 2026.

The site has experienced persistent issues including unauthorised access, illegal burning of waste, vandalism, theft and the disposal of prohibited materials (e.g. asbestos), posing risks to public safety and the environment.

As a result, we made the decision to permanently close the facility to protect the safety of the community, safeguard the environment and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
