Liquor licences and permits

If you want to sell or serve alcohol on your business premises, you need a liquor licence.

You can apply for a liquor licence through the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation (OLGR).

Your business must have appropriate land use approval for a liquor licence. We provide this advice to the OLGR in a written response.

You can also contact us for a written response to include in your application. We provide this service for a fee.

Community liquor permits

If you want to sell or serve liquor on a one-off occasion at unlicensed premises, you need to apply for a community liquor permit.

The OLGR grants community liquor permits for community events such as:

  • school fetes
  • rodeos
  • fundraising events
  • sporting events.

These permits are suitable for unlicensed community organisations, including:

  • parent and citizen associations
  • non-proprietary clubs
  • not-for profit organisations.

Limitations and requirements apply.

To find out how to apply for a liquor licence or community liquor permit, see the Liquor and Gaming Regulation.
