Impounded vehicles and goods

Abandoned vehicles (usually unregistered) or goods left on public land, will be investigated and at times, impounded by us. We report all impoundments in an online impoundment register.

Claiming an impounded vehicle

  • Check the impounded vehicles register.
    • If your vehicle is in the register, contact us on 131 872 to reclaim your vehicle. Identification will be required and a fee will be charged.
    • If your vehicle is not in the register, contact the police.

Vehicles will be held for a month, before they are disposed of.

To report an unregistered or abandoned vehicle, contact us via one of the following methods:

To make it as easy as possible for our staff to retrieve the vehicle, please supply the following details:

  • location (if possible, provide the exact address, street name, park name, suburb)
  • make/model of the vehicle
  • colour.
