Name or rename a road or street

Proposed road names should not cause confusion or be culturally sensitive. Roads may be named after:

 

  • geographical features
  • endemic flora and fauna
  • items, places or persons that have:
  • historical significance of the region or nation or
  • significance in Indigenous and/or Australian culture

Contact us and give as much detail as possible to support your request.

We have developed a policy for consideration of requests to name or rename any part of the road network under our jurisdiction within the region. The policy does not apply to new roads associated with development applications lodged through the Planning and Development branch.
