If you’re building a new home, connecting to Council water for the first time or planning a unit development (strata or non-strata), it’s important to understand the process for a water meter connection.
Water meters are required for each property or unit to measure water use accurately and ensure compliance with our requirements.
In some cases, you may also need to disconnect your water service for development purposes.
You should apply for a water meter connection prior to any construction works commencing on the site.
Allow a minimum of 10 working days for the installation to be completed by us following the lodgement and payment of the application.
Individual homes or buildings are rated as one property and have one water meter.
Before applying, you'll need to know the correct connection size for your property. We recommend consulting a licensed plumber or hydraulic consultant to confirm your requirements.
It’s your responsibility to make sure which service is needed before submitting an application and payment.
