Highlights:
Most community-facing Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) facilities will reopen from tomorrow, Monday 10 March, wherever it’s safe.
Toowoomba Region Mayor Geoff McDonald said Council had made the call to reopen these facilities as soon as possible following latest advice around ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred.
“With the Government having now announced most schools across the Toowoomba region would reopen tomorrow (Monday 10 March), similarly most TRC community-facing facilities will now reopen.
“The Highfields Library and Customer Service Centre as an example, will not open on Monday."
“Community members are encouraged to stay up to date with re-openings on our Council web site and social media channels.
“Toowoomba Region Waste Management Facilities are set to reopen as normal from tomorrow (Monday) pending power restoration and any local access issues.
“Kerbside bin collection will resume as normal from tomorrow. Please put your bins out like normal.
“Council commends the community for their efforts in preparing for this weather event,” Mayor McDonald said.
