Local plans and land use investigations

We undertake local plans and land use investigations in the Toowoomba Region. Our findings from these investigations help us manage change and accommodate growth.

To determine when and where investigations may be needed, we keep an eye on:

  • population and economic growth
  • environmental, social and planning matters.

Our investigations also help to:

  • guide growth and change
  • allocate future investment
  • coordinate new and improved infrastructure
  • guide development to create liveable communities
  • protect valuable local features and enhance the character of the area
  • support economic development
  • address locally specific issues
  • identify opportunities that influence the future of the area.

Based on the findings of our investigations, we make changes to the Toowoomba Regional Planning Scheme.

We are currently undertaking a wide variety of investigations. The list below identifies local plans and land use investigations that are underway or completed and where it has been incorporated into the Planning Scheme.
