We’re replacing the 28 km water pipeline that runs from the Pechey reservoirs to the Mt Kynoch Water Treatment Plant. The new pipeline will carry more water and make Toowoomba’s water supply more secure.
The old pipeline was built in the 1960s. Its joints began to fail over time, and checks showed the pipeline was in poor condition. That’s why we’re upgrading it, to keep our water supply reliable for future generations.
Work started in 2018 and has been done in stages each year. As of November 2025, the pipeline has been replaced up to Quinlan Road.
