Nominating road frontage

If you're carrying out construction, you may be eligible to apply for a nomination of road frontage. This identifies the major street on a corner block for construction purposes.

This is subject to:

Nomination of road frontage is not a siting discretion. This means we have no power to approve a variation to the rules.

You may still need approval if you're building closer than the prescribed setbacks.

Applying for a nomination of road frontage

You can apply:

  • in person.

We need a full set of plans, including site, floor and elevations.

We prefer online applications through our customer service portal. You need to register to submit your development application online.

You need to provide a site plan drawn to scale (we recommend 1:100 or 1:200) and pay the application fee.

Assessing your application

The Development Control Team will assess your application.

They will issue formal advice on the outcome of the application.
