Tom Volp Park features a sporting area with a cricket oval (concrete wicket), a lit tennis court, shaded children's playground, picnic rotunda, barbecue, toilets and off street parking.
A drainage line exists at back of oval.
This parkland is located around a dam that was constructed in the late 19th century to supply water to the steam trains that ran along a branch line that passed through Meringandan.
This railway line serviced the small communities north of Toowoomba from the 1880s to the 1950s. Tom Volp who the park is name after, was a long serving employee on the former Crows Nest Shire Council.
