McCafferty Park

McCafferty Park is situated near the Range Shopping Centre. Its playground facilities include an interesting rock-climbing structure with slide, swings and some nature-play elements. Seating areas and a picnic table are also available for visitors.

History

This park is named in honour of John Francis (or, as most knew him, Jack) McCafferty. Mr McCafferty was elected to Toowoomba City Council in 1955 and was Toowoomba Mayor from 1958 to 1967. He was also one of the pioneers of the bus and coach industry in Australia.
