hoopla
hoopla is a free digital media service offered by Toowoomba Region Libraries that allows you to borrow movies, music, audiobooks, eBooks, comics and TV shows to enjoy on your computer, tablet, phone – and even your TV. With no waiting, titles can be streamed immediately or downloaded for offline enjoyment later.

Instructions for installing and setting up hoopla
- Download the hoopla app from App Store iOS (Apple) or Google Play (Android) or go to hoopla (pc).
- Signup with an email address and password, find your library (Toowoomba Region Libraries) and enter your library card number and PIN. Once your account is set up, you'll sign in with the email address and password you created.
Search and borrow
- Search for music. Then borrow a title by tapping/clicking the title's icon and selecting borrow.
- Library members can borrow up to 8 items per month on the hoopla platform.
- Loan credits reset on the 1st of each month.
- Stream movies and music by pressing play or download it to your device to hear, read and watch it. You'll need to download it if you plan on using your item without wifi.
- Read comics by selecting read or download it to your device.
Loan periods
- Music - 7 days.
- Movies, documentaries and TV shows – 3 days.
- Comics - 21 days

A renew option is available for titles that are currently on loan to you and is visible 24 hours before the title expires. You can opt to renew the title or let it return automatically at the end of the loan period. The Renew option is helpful if you want to “check out” the title again and if the title has been downloaded, it does not have be downloaded again to your device. A Renewal does count towards your loan count for the month.

No subscription fees apply. All you need to get started is your library membership number and an internet connected device. All available titles can be viewed here.
Online memberships
An online membership provides access to our electronic resources such as eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines, eMusic, video streaming services, online learning platforms, online databases and more. Online memberships are free and you can join here.
