First 5 Forever and 0-5 year sessions

Discover our upcoming First 5 Forever sessions below. Sessions are held in a mix of in library branches, parks and other locations across the Region during term time.

Toowoomba Region Libraries First 5 Forever is a play-based program for children aged 0 to 5 years. The program supports early literacy development and caregivers in their role as their child’s first and most important teacher. Each session presents a fun, educational and interactive way of learning words, rhymes and songs that you and your child can take home to enjoy together with the aim to making talking, reading, singing and playing together, part of your daily routine any time, any place.

Read + Play

Join the First 5 Forever team at the library to talk, read, sing and play. Our interactive sessions are for families with children 0–5 years. Sessions can include songs, rhymes, stories, play and movement.

Sing + Play (0 - 2 years)

You and your baby can learn rhymes, action songs and finger plays to share together. These sessions are for families with children aged 0 to 2 years and support early literacy development and caregivers in their role as their child’s first and most important teacher. Bookings not required.

Play

Children learn through play. Have fun playing and exploring with your child with music and movement, sensory play and activities that promote brain and language development. These sessions are for families with children aged 0 to 5 years, bookings not required.

Talk, Read, Sing, Play in the Community

Join the First 5 Forever Community Team to talk, read, sing and play in the community at local parks and inside within library branches. Our interactive sessions are for families with children 0–5 years. Sessions can include song, rhymes, stories, play and movement.

Session times

  • Queens Park, Toowoomba (near all-ability playground off Lindsay Street): Every Wednesday during school terms, 10am - 11am
  • 1a Birch Court Park, Darling Heights: Tuesday 4 August and 1 September, 10am - 11am
  • Harlaxton Hub: Thursday 13 August and 10 September, 10am - 11am
  • Ruby Lane: Thursday 30 July, 10am - 11am

Bookings are not required. Wet weather cancellation updates are announced on the Toowoomba Region Libraries Facebook page as soon as possible.
