Landcare

Volunteer opportunity

Friends of the Escarpment Parks (FEP) invites community members to join their friendly group of volunteers in caring for and regenerating bushland parks each week. Their efforts help preserve natural habitats for birds and wildlife across 16 bushland parks in Toowoomba and Highfields.

As a volunteer, participants can expect to:

  • Contribute to Environmental Conservation: Help protect and restore stunning bushland parks by removing invasive weeds and planting native species.
  • Improve Physical Fitness: Enjoy outdoor activities that keep volunteers active and healthy, the perfect ‘green gym’.
  • Boost Mental Well-being: Experience the mental health benefits of spending time in nature and engaging in meaningful work.
  • Build Community Connections: Meet like-minded individuals who share a passion for the environment and build lasting friendships.
  • Enjoy Flexible Commitment: Volunteer as much or as little as you desire, with opportunities to fit any schedule.
  • Develop New Skills: Learn valuable skills in environmental management and conservation which can benefit personal growth or career development.
  • Leave a Lasting Legacy: Make a tangible impact on the local environment, creating a better place for future generations.

Volunteer activities are suitable for various ages, fitness levels, abilities, and interests.
