Drayton & Toowoomba Cemetery vandalism list from 9 August 2024

Following the senseless and disgraceful act of vandalism that occurred on 9 August, damaging 143 memorials and monuments at our Drayton & Toowoomba Cemetery, the offenders were identified, charged, appeared in court and dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justices Act.

We have completed an evaluation of the cemetery and have compiled a list of the damaged sites which can be found below.

We are here to assist those affected by this unfortunate event. We have undertaken the removal and rectification of hazards to meet workplace health & safety requirements. This included laying monuments flat and face up for the safety of the community.

Open hours: Drayton & Toowoomba Cemetery office hours are 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday (appointments preferred). The cemetery is open to the public from 6am to 6pm daily.
