TRC enhances transparency with new portal

Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) is making it easier than ever for residents to stay informed about Council decisions with the launch of a new online Decision Register.
The new portal, available through Council's website, provides the community with a central location to view Council decisions made from 2022 onwards.
The Decision Register is another step in Council's commitment to transparency, consistency and accountability, making it easier for residents, businesses and stakeholders to see what is being discussed and decided at Ordinary Meetings of Council.
TRC Mayor Geoff McDonald said the new portal reflected Council's focus on improving customer service and ensuring the community had easy access to information about decision-making.
"We know our community wants to understand the decisions being made on their behalf and how those decisions are progressing," Mayor McDonald said.
"This new Decision Register provides a simple and accessible way for residents to see exactly what Council has resolved and where those decisions sit in the implementation process.
"Transparency is a cornerstone of good governance. By making this information easier to access, we're strengthening accountability and building greater trust between Council and the community,” he said.
"The register also provides a consistent approach to reporting Council decisions and their status, helping residents, businesses and community groups stay informed about matters that affect our Region.
"This is another example of Council's commitment to continuous improvement and delivering better customer-focused services for our community."
The register contains the full Council resolution associated with each decision, along with its current status, providing clear visibility of how decisions are progressing and being implemented.
The register will be updated monthly following each Ordinary Meeting of Council and can be accessed via Council's website here – https://www.tr.qld.gov.au/Council/Councillors-and-meetings/Meeting-agendas-and-minutes.
