Quinalow invited to meet and connect with Councillors

Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) is inviting the Quinalow community to come along for an evening with Councillors, providing an opportunity to meet, connect and chat about local matters that are important to residents.
TRC Mayor Geoff McDonald said the Community Conversations event would bring together residents, property owners, local businesses and Councillors to strengthen connections and discuss issues affecting the community.
“Community Conversations is all about giving people the opportunity to meet with Councillors, share what is happening in their local area and have meaningful conversations about the things that matter to them,” Cr McDonald said.
“These events help Councillors stay connected with our communities and provide a valuable opportunity to hear local perspectives and experiences firsthand.
“We know every community has its own unique character and priorities, and we enjoy hearing about what people value most about living and working in places like Quinalow.”
Cr McDonald said the event would encourage open discussion, with attendees welcome to raise local topics and ideas that are important to them.
“There are no set discussion topics and no formal presentations. People can drop in, enjoy a meal and have a conversation with Councillors about local issues, opportunities and community interests,” he said.
“While not every idea raised can be acted on immediately, these conversations help Councillors build a better understanding of community views and keep informed about the matters that are important to residents.
“We encourage anyone with an interest in their local community to come along and join the discussion.”
The Mayor said the event would be informal and family-friendly, with a free barbecue and live entertainment.
The Community Conversations event will be held on Thursday 13 August 2026 at Quinalow Hall, corner of Daly Street and Pechey-Maclagan Road, from 5.30pm to 7pm.
