Toowoomba Region residents aged 80 years and over are invited to share in the festive spirit, reconnect with friends and enjoy a special morning of community celebration at the annual Mayor’s Over 80s Christmas Party.

Hosted by Toowoomba Regional Council, the much-loved event will bring together senior residents from across the Region for a morning tea filled with friendship, conversation and Christmas cheer.

Toowoomba Regional Council Mayor Geoff McDonald said the event was a chance to celebrate the people whose contributions have helped make the Region the vibrant and welcoming place it is today.

"Our residents over 80 are the heart of so many communities across the Toowoomba Region. They've raised families, built businesses, volunteered their time, supported neighbours and helped shape the place we proudly call home," Mayor McDonald said.

"The stories, experiences and wisdom they share are a big part of what makes our communities so special, and this event is our way of recognising and celebrating that contribution.

"The Mayor's Over 80s Christmas Party is always a wonderful morning. There's plenty of laughter, great company and a real sense of connection as people come together to celebrate the festive season.

"For many people, it's also a chance to catch up with old friends, make new ones and enjoy being part of a community that genuinely values and appreciates them.

"We'd love to see as many residents as possible join Councillors and our wonderful volunteers for what promises to be a fun and festive celebration."

RSVPs are essential and close on Monday 23 November 2026.
