The Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise (TSBE) is an independent, business-driven, advocacy organisation focused on linking business with opportunity and ensuring the region enjoys sustainable economic growth into the region. As a united voice for the region, TSBE lobbies all levels of Government on the issues that are important to local business and the community and works to help position the region with advantage to capitalise on opportunities.

Investment attraction and facilitation are an important part of the TSBE charter and promoting the region effectively to Australia and the world is a priority.

Local Chambers of Commerce and Progress Associations

The local Chambers of Commerce and Business Associations represent the interests of the business community, supporting and assisting business operation, growth and development. Members meet regularly to discuss common issues, concerns and opportunities within their own forums.

Trade and Investment Queensland

Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ) works with partner agencies, industry organisations and international allies to promote better access to overseas markets and decision-makers for Queensland companies.

If you are exporting your products or wish to commence exporting, TIQ can help you with:

  • outbound and inbound trade missions to connect you with international markets
  • access to networking opportunities, seminars and workshops
  • information on overseas markets and export opportunities.

TIQ has regional representation in Toowoomba at their Darling Downs and South West office.

Department of State Development, Infrastructure and Planning

This department plays a critical role in leading a statewide, coordinated approach to infrastructure, planning and development whilst ensuring a sustainable future for Queensland communities. The department encompasses a number of functions that make it uniquely placed to set and drive an economic agenda for Queensland, stimulating industry growth and creating jobs. It has the lead role in industry development for the state, including increasing the economic contribution of strategic supply chains, improving local suppliers' performance in accessing market opportunities and attracting and generating new industry investment.

Department of Trade, Employment and Training

This department supports Queensland’s economy by helping people gain the skills they need for work, supporting employment opportunities, and promoting trade and investment. Its programs and services help build a skilled workforce, strengthen local businesses, and improve economic outcomes for communities across Queensland.

AusIndustry

AusIndustry is the Australian Government’s main business program delivery agency. It helps businesses access information, advice and Australian Government programs, grants and incentives that support innovation, research and development, investment and business growth, contributing to stronger employment and economic outcomes.

Regional Development Australia

Regional Development Australia (RDA) is a partnership between Australian, State, Territory and local governments to strengthen regional communities. The national network of 52 committees is made up of local leaders who work with government, business and community groups to support the development of their regions. They build partnerships to develop strategies and deliver sustainable infrastructure and services to their region.

Industry.gov.au is the Australian Government's principal business program delivery agency in the Department of Industry, Science and Resources and is committed to driving growth and job creation by facilitating economic transformation and boosting business competitiveness.
