Highfields Road intersections upgrade project

We are delivering upgrades to Highfields Road to improve safety, traffic flow and connectivity.

These major upgrades will enhance the amenity of the area, support the continued growth of the Highfields commercial area and align with the Central Highfields Master Plan.

The project will:

  • upgrade the central Highfields road network, including constructing four new roundabouts and realigning Kratzke and O’Brien roads
  • upgrade all underground utilities
  • install raised pedestrian crossings at the new roundabouts
  • create connected footpaths and shared paths along Highfields Road and surrounding streets
  • deliver a landscaped street network that supports the future town centre.

This project is funded with the support of the Queensland Government in association with us.

Expected start date: March 2026

Target completion date: Early 2028
