The Clifton Library will be temporarily closed to allow for essential building works and maintenance from Tuesday 3 March 2026.

During the closure, Toowoomba Regional Council Library and Cultural Services portfolio spokesperson Cr Melissa Taylor said customers were able to visit any of the 10 remaining libraries throughout the Toowoomba Region.

“While the facility will be temporarily closed, residents will still be able to access the Mobile Library at the nearest scheduled stop, including Greenmount, Cambooya and Wyreema every Friday,” she said.

To support library users during this temporary closure:

  • Loan periods for all Clifton customers will be automatically extended, with no penalties for late returns.
  • Customers may continue to reserve items via the Library catalogue, with reserved items available for collection at the Clifton Customer Service Centre.
  • Library members can enjoy uninterrupted access to a wide range of online resources for reading, research and relaxation by visiting the Library website or using the Toowoomba Library App.

“Regular programs, including Storytime and Drop‑in Tech Support, will be paused during the closure,” Cr Taylor said.

“Council thanks the community for its patience and understanding as these upgrades are completed.”

The Library is expected to re‑open on Tuesday 31 March 2026. For further information, please contact 131 872.
