Record numbers of customers are continuing to access Toowoomba Regional Council’s (TRC) online Real Estate Portal, with usage in the 2025/26 financial year on track to exceed all previous records since the portal was first established.

February 2026 proved to be another standout month, with more than 1,600 hits recorded.

The portal attracted almost 13,000 hits in the 2024/25 financial year, averaging around 1,100 visits per month, marking a more than 20 per cent increase on the prior year. With current usage trends, the 2025/26 financial year is set to surpass that total.

TRC Finance portfolio spokesperson Councillor Gary Gardner said the surge in activity demonstrated the portal’s growing importance to local professionals.

“Council is always looking for ways to make it easier for residents and businesses to engage with us, and the ongoing growth of our online real estate portal shows that we’re delivering exactly that,” Cr Gardner said.

“Our Real Estate Portal provides instant access to property information and is the only purpose-built portal of its kind, being used by Councils in Australia.

“With more than 1,600 hits in February alone, the portal continues to be a go-to resource for real estate agents and solicitors. It enables quick access to key property information without needing to contact Council directly, which frees up our customer service resources and delivers a far more streamlined experience.”

The free portal operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, allowing users to search property details by lot and plan. Available information includes:

  • property location and description
  •  half-yearly rates and water charges
  • outstanding balances
  • current water meter readings
  • land area and land valuation.

Cr Gardner said Council’s Rates team can also support local businesses needing help using the system.

“Our team is more than happy to provide basic training to real estate agents and solicitors. Anyone wanting assistance is encouraged to contact us on 131 872,” he said.
