Mountain biking

Mountain biking is a great way to explore some of our region’s spectacular bushland trails and scenic views. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced mountain bike rider, we have a ride that will suit you.

Toowoomba has a mountain bike club run by volunteers working with Council to protect and restore our natural areas. Mountain Bike Australia is the main peak body for mountain biking in Australia.

Suggested routes from community members can be found on the Trailforks and Mountain Bike Mecca (Crows Nest and Hampton).
 

Popular enduro routes include:

Jubilee Park (Mount Lofty) - The park offers more than 26 km of single-track mountain bike trails ranging from green circle (easy) to black diamond (difficult). The Toowoomba Mountain Bike Club's map is a great reference to help you check out all the trails.

Mount Peel Bushland Park(Drayton) - The park has two green circle (easy) single-track mountain bike trails totalling more than 7 km. Check out the Jubilee Park (Mount Lofty).

Popular cross-country routes include:

Federation Park (Vale View) - The park offers about 1 km multi-use trail shared between walkers and mountain bike riders.

Mount Peel Bushland Park(Drayton) - The park has two green circle (easy) single-track mountain bike trails totalling more than 7 km. Check out the Jubilee Park (Mount Lofty).

Brisbane Valley Rail Trail (Yarraman) - The trail starts from Yarraman Station Park and comprises 160 km of multi-use track that follows the disused Brisbane Valley rail line to Wulkuraka (near Ipswich).

Glen Lomond Park (Middle Ridge) - The park as more than 5 km of multi-use trails shared between walkers, horse riders and mountain bike riders. 

Picnic Point Parklands (Rangeville) - The parklands host the Picnic Point Bridle Trail with 1.5 km of multi-use trail shared between walkers, bike riders and horse riders.

Redwood Park (Prince Henry Heights) - The park is made up of the Bridle Trail, Grasstree Trail and Eagles Nest Trail. The 5.5 km trails distance is shared between walkers, bike riders and horse riders.

Weir Trail Circuit (Yarraman) - The circuit is a 2.3 km multi-use trail that loops Yarraman Station Park through to Weir Park and back. 

Jubilee Park (Mount Lofty) - The park offers more than 26 km of single-track mountain bike trails ranging from green circle (easy) to black diamond (difficult). It also has 12.5 km of multi-use track shared between walkers, bike riders and horse riders. The Toowoomba Mountain Bike Club's map is a great reference to help you check out all the trails. 

Crows Nest Mountain Bike Mecca - Crows Nest offers a number of trails on gravel and dirt roads with some sealed roads in place.

 

Popular downhill routes include:

Jubilee Park (Mount Lofty) - The park offers dedicated downhill trails of varying technical difficulty. The Toowoomba Mountain Bike Club's map is a great reference to help you check out all the trails.
 

Skills facilities include:

Stenner Skills Park (Middle Ridge) - The park has 5 dirt jump tracks ranging in ability levels to suit beginners and experts. The tracks include tabletops, gap doubles, rollers and berms.

Jubilee Park (Mount Lofty) - A skills area can be accessed from the Bridge St Quarry parking area.

Carly Hibberd Park (Kearney Springs) - This beginner skills area can be accessed from Velodrome Drive. It has 4 tracks that include rollers and balancing logs for riders who want to start mountain biking.

Popular mass-participation rides
