Discover our upcoming First 5 Forever sessions below. Sessions are held in a mix of in library branches, parks and other locations across the Region during term time. 

Toowoomba Region Libraries First 5 Forever sessions are for families with children aged 0 to 5 years, supporting early literacy development and caregivers in their role as their child’s first and most important teacher.  Each session presents a fun, educational and interactive way of learning words, rhymes and songs that you and your child can take home to enjoy together with the  aim to making talking, reading, singing and playing together, part of your daily routine any time, any place.

 

Created for families with children aged 0 to 5 years, Story Time is a great way to develop a love of reading and introduce your child to books. Sessions run during School Term time only.
Bookings not required.

  •  Cecil Plains Library: Every second Friday of the month, 9.30 - 10am

  •  Clifton Library: Every second Tuesday of the month, 10 - 10.30am

  •  Crows Nest John French VC Memorial Library: Monday, 9.30 - 10am

  •  Goombungee Library: Thursday, 9 - 9.30am

  •  Highfields Library: Friday, 10 - 10.30am and Saturday, 10.30 - 11am

  •  Millmerran Library: Every second Thursday of the month, 10 - 10.30am 

  •  Pittsworth Library: Wednesday, 10 - 10.30am

  •  Quinalow Library: Tuesday, 9.30 - 10am 

  •  Toowoomba City Library: Monday and Tuesday, 9.30 - 10am

  •  Yarraman Library: Third Wednesday of the month, 10.15 - 10.45am 

You and your baby can learn rhymes, action songs and finger plays to share together. These sessions are for families with children aged 0 to 2 years and support early literacy development and caregivers in their role as their child’s first and most important teacher. Bookings not required.

  • Toowoomba City Library: Tuesday and Thursday, 11 - 11.30am

Children learn through play. Have fun playing and exploring with your child with music and movement, sensory play and activities that promote brain and language development. These sessions are for families with children aged 0 to 5 years, bookings not required.

  • Oakey Library: Tuesday, 10 - 10.30am

  • Grand Central Community Library: Last Thursday of the month, 10 - 11am

  • Bunnings North: First Thursday of the month, 10 - 11am

During each of these sessions, library staff host interactive First 5 Forever children’s storytime sessions for children and their parents or carers to enjoy. Bookings not required.
