Training courses and workshops

There are a number of training courses available in our Region to help businesses grow and develop. 

Digital Solutions

Digital Solutions is a business mentoring program delivered by Business Station. The program can assist you with a range of things from Social Media and Digital Marketing to Financial Management and Web Development.

Small business owners are eligible for up to 7 hours of mentorship for with the Digital Solutions program, fully subsidised by Toowoomba Regional Council. In the program you will receive up to 3 hours of personalised, one-to-one business advice and 4 hours of group workshops and webinars to stretch your learning even further.

Digital Solutions connects you with expert advisers on everything from social media and selling online to business plans and financial management.

Your Digital Solutions journey starts with a one-to-one session with an expert adviser to establish what you and your business need to succeed. We’ll then hand-select advisers, workshops and webinars for you based on your interests and what was outlined in your first session. When your journey is complete, we’ll review everything you’ve learnt and set you up with a plan for moving forward.

The minimum requirement for the program is that you need to have a valid ABN and your business needs to be located in the Toowoomba Region.

Build a Better Business Program

We've partnered with TAFE Queensland to deliver a training series of workshops and business mentoring to help small business owners and managers improve their business skills and build their business.

Through the Build a Better Business workshops and mentoring, expert business mentors will guide you through critical periods of business development and arm you with the knowledge, skills and confidence you need to clarify your ideas and move into the next stage of business growth.

As part of this program, participants may be able to undertake a Certificate IV in Small Business Management (BSB42518).

Digital Marketing Mentoring Program

We've partnered with DMS Creative to offer fully subsidised expert advice to local businesses, as part of its Digital Marketing Mentoring program.

Whether you run an established business or are looking for ways to best use digital marketing the program will provide growing small and medium businesses in the Region with expert advice. The program will help navigate digital marketing and service technologies, tailored to their industry and specific business needs, and help you build a Digital Business Action Plan.

Small Business Friendly Council initiative

We’ve joined the Small Business Friendly Council’s initiative partnering with the Queensland Small Business Commissioner to actively support small business in the Toowoomba Region. Small businesses are at the heart our regional communities as they create local jobs and support the local economy while providing essential goods and services. This initiative is Council’s commitment to be mindful of small business when making community decisions.

Business Launchpad

The Business Launchpad is a new service that aims to save you time and effort when starting and running a small business. Get started by creating a guide of licences, permits and other regulatory requirements from federal, state and local government, specifically for your business. Once you’ve created a guide, you can review the requirements for starting your business, answer questions to return tailored results, and keep track of where you are in the process.
