Families and children in Goombungee, Oakey, Clifton and surrounding areas can experience exciting, free hands-on art-making activities when the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern (QAGOMA) presents Express Yourself: Art Activity Pop-Up – Vipoo Srivilasa at Rosalie Gallery and three regional libraries in the coming month.

This free program coincides with artist Vipoo Srivilasa’s current QAGOMA Children’s Art Centre exhibition, Express Yourself, and offers Queensland communities the chance to enjoy key elements of the exhibition in their local venue.

This exciting project invites visitors to explore emotions through different activities such as dancing, drawing and digital media to create works that express thoughts, ideas and feeling.

Vipoo is a Thai-born, Melbourne-based ceramic artist who is interested in installation and audience participation.

Vipoo likes to make work that is beautiful, fun and adds a smile to people’s faces. He often incorporates flowers and imaginary characters in his practice.

Positivity, beauty and accessibility are important elements of his work, and he is particularly known for creating ceramic characters covered in flowers, called ‘flower bears’.

This exhibition-inspired art activity encourages visitors to consider the spectrum of human emotion with curiosity and an open mind.
