Brookstead water main works commencing soon

Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) will soon commence critical water main replacement works in Lord, Madeline, Daphne and March streets in Brookstead to meet current and future water demand in the area.

TRC’s Strategic Water Planning and Capital Delivery portfolio spokesperson Deputy Mayor Councillor Rebecca Vonhoff said water assets at Brookstead have reached the end of their serviceable life and are due to be replaced.

“To achieve the best results for the community the assets will also be upgraded to meet fire flow and pressure standards,” Cr Vonhoff said.

“Residents will also experience improved stability and water pressure due to a new pressure reducing valve being installed as part of the upgrade.”

“The new water mains will also reduce the frequency of pipe bursts and service interruptions to those members of the community connected to these mains.”

“By upgrading our aging infrastructure, we can take the opportunity to maximise the improvements in our service delivery and give the community the best possible outcome.”

“Council is committed to investing in the water infrastructure in each of our towns and cities across the Region.”

Works will start in early September, 2025 and are expected to be finished in early November 2025, weather permitting.

During construction, temporary road and footpath closures will be in place for the safety of pedestrians, road users and construction crews.

Council will minimise disruptions where possible and thanks the community for its patience and co-operation during these works.
