Street Tree Masterplan and street tree species

The Street Tree Masterplan is currently under review and will be published on this page once the review is complete.

Street tree masterplan

The street tree masterplan has received industry accolades for its vision to protect and enhance the diverse streetscape character of the region. Named joint winner of the 2012 Parks and Leisure Australia National Awards in the Sustainable Initiatives category, the street tree masterplan's key objectives are:

  • to provide a consistent and living street tree masterplan that reinforces and enhances the landscape character of our towns.
  • to provide increased shade and improved aesthetic amenity by implementing high quality canopy plantings.
  • to advance our reputation as custodians and managers of street tree assets for our area into the future.

Street tree species list

The revised Street tree species list replaces the Master street tree species list contained within the street tree masterplan 2011. The revised list provides updated information and introduces new species that are considered suitable for planting in a range of landscape scenarios.

All efforts have been made to ensure the accuracy of the information provided by this document. However, due to gaps in research and available information, assumptions have been made for a number of species about their expected performance and environmental attributes. Please contact us for a copy of this list.
