The innovative practices within contemporary textile art will be in the spotlight at the third International Art Textile Biennale which is on display at Toowoomba Regional Art Gallery until August 3, 2025.
The International Art Textile Biennale aims to highlight the finest examples of modern art textiles, featuring submissions from both Australian and international artists.
This exhibition celebrates a diverse range of works that explore and push the boundaries of the textile medium.
Contemporary art textiles have gained increasing recognition as an art form, with artists exploring a range of techniques and materials to create distinctive, innovative works that push the boundaries of the medium.
The pieces in this Biennale challenge conventional ideas, revealing surprising connections between textiles and other artistic disciplines.
As textile art continues to evolve, it offers a vibrant and diverse landscape for both artists and audiences to explore.
This year’s Biennale features 42 exhibition pieces by 39 artists, with 22 from Australia and 20 international participants from 10 different countries.
Toowoomba Regional Art Gallery at 531 Ruthven Street, Toowoomba, is open Wednesday to Sunday 10.30am – 3.30pm. Entry is free.
