Assisted waste collection service

Our assisted waste collection service allows our contractor to enter your property to remove your waste bins and after emptying them, return the bins to their storage location. Waste trucks do not drive onto your property.

There is no charge for the service, however, there is criteria to be met. The criteria is outlined on the application form.

Service details

An assisted waste collection service:

  • is allocated to a person, not a property
  • can be suspended for a period of time if a resident is away from the property but will be returning in the future
  • can be moved to a new address when the customer moves
  • can be cancelled by the customer, an authorised person or real estate agent at any time.

How to apply for a service

  1. Fill in the Assisted waste collection service application(PDF, 167KB). Include a doctor's certificate or confirmation from a medical practitioner.

  2. Submit the form via email or over the counter at one of our Customer Service Centres

Collection requirements

The following requirements must be met in order to use the service:

  • Distance between where the bins are stored and the roadside must be no further than 40m.
  • We will consider on a case-by-case basis if the distance is between 40 -100m.
  • There must not be any restrictions to accessing the bins including grid crossovers or locked gates.
  • Gates must be kept unlocked and animals secured away from the bins on service day between 5am and 6pm.
  • Any vehicles on the property must be kept clear of the bins on service day from 5am and 6pm.
  • Bins must be easily accessible on the property and not stored in a shed or garage.
  • Residents are responsible for the waste in their bin and will be required to remove any contamination, excess waste or non-compatible items before collection.
