Water is available for purchase from water filling stations, also known as standpipes, throughout our region. Potable and non-potable water are available at different locations. A touch tag or key is required to access water from each water filling station.
Each water filling station has different access requirements.
Water filling stations can be accessed 24 hours a day. During summer, there may be an increased filling wait time.

Touch tag credit
- To add credit, phone 131 872 or bring it to one of these customer service centres; Crows Nest, Highfields, Millmerran, Oakey, Pittsworth, Toowoomba.
- The tag can be credited with a dollar amount up $999.
- Phone top-ups can only be added in $25 increments.
- The tag must be inserted into a water filling station for the credit to be applied after the phone call. If credit was added by staff at a customer service centre, the credit is instantly available.
- Once credit is placed on the tag, it can be used to purchase water at the specified filling stations only. The amount of water taken is recorded and the cost is subtracted from the available credit on the tag. Credit available on the touch tag can be monitored each time the filling station is used.
View water filling station water fees.
If the tag is damaged, lost or stolen, details on the tag may be lost. This includes the remaining credit information.
Ensure the tag is not left in the sun or allow it to get wet. This could damage the chip in the tag and void any refunds.
Remaining credit can be refunded if the touch tag is returned undamaged. If the tag is lost or stolen, the leftover credit on the tag may be forfeited, so please keep it in a safe place.
To report a lost or damaged tag or key, contact us by phone on 131 872.
