Building Code of Australia

The Building Code of Australia sets out the design and construction rules for buildings and other structures across Australia.

Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB) produces and maintains the Code on behalf of the Australian, state and territory governments. It has two volumes:

  • Volume 1 for Class 2 to 9 buildings
  • Volume 2 for Class 1 and 10 buildings.
