Buildings are to be clear of Council's infrastructure (sewer, inter-allotment drainage and water mains). If the proposed building is over or near infrastructure you may be asked to:

  • Submit an application to Council for determination (use the Building over or near water, sewer or stormwater services form (online)).
  • Engage a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland to prepare a suitable footing/slab design.
  • Relocate the structure to comply with the Queensland Development Code – MP 1.4 Building over or near relevant Infrastructure.

 

When to apply for a siting discretion for building work

A siting discretion may be required for building work, where the siting (location) of building work onsite does not meet the acceptable solutions of the the Queensland Development Code MP 1.1 (detached houses on lots under 450m²), 1.2 (detached houses on lots over 450m²) and 1.3 (duplexes).
