Walking Network Plans set the direction for improved connectivity of walking paths to encourage walking and cycling (active transport) throughout our Region. These Plans identify routes to key destinations and guide projects and funding to make it easier and more appealing for people walking or cycling, such as the provision of new and upgraded paths, safe crossing facilities, lighting, and trees for shade along key routes.

The plans are considered in conjunction with other active transport priorities. Council is also planning to develop more walking network plans for other towns and urban centres in our Region.
