Council is constructing an off-street car park to service Glenvale State School.

The facility will be a one-way car park with 38 angled parking bays to cater for parents and carers of Glenvale State School students. It will provide a safe, off-street pick-up and drop-off area and improve traffic flow and access for cars and school buses using Glenvale Road.

The car park will be located on Glenvale State School grounds. The entrance will be via Glenvale Road and the exit via Dawn Drive.

The facility will operate during school drop-off and pick-up times. Vehicle access will not be permitted outside these hours.

The project also includes constructing a left-turn lane from Glenvale Road into the car park, installing two disability parking bays on Glenvale Road near the school office and widening Dawn Drive to create a right-turn lane into McDougall Street.

$1.35 million has been allocated to the project in 2021/22 with a subsidy of $1,060,000 through the Queensland Government’s School Transport Infrastructure Program.
