In the 2021/22 financial year, budget has been allocated to numerous regional resealing, rehabilitation and asphalt overlay programs.

The following ongoing projects will focus on improving our roads.

 

Regional asphalt overlay program

The asphalt overlay program aims to renew existing sections of the road network with an asphalt surface to the latest standard. This is an ongoing program and $3 million has been allocated in the 2021/22 budget.

Target completion date

December 2021.

 

Regional reseal program

This ongoing program involves renewing the bitumen seals across more than 200km in the existing road network. Over 80% of the program will be undertaken across regional areas in the network.

In the 2021/22 budget, $6 million has been allocated to the program.

October 2021.

Target completion date

January 2022.

 

Regional rehabilitation program

This is an ongoing program focusing on rehabilitating the pavement of our sealed road network in the poorest condition, in priority sections within the central area of our Region. The program aims to renew the life of the road and improve safety to current standards.

In the 2021/22 budget, $11.4 million was allocated to this program.

Regional resheet program

Another ongoing program, the resheet renewal program focuses on renewing the pavement across the existing unsealed road network. The program will resheet more than 150km of road across the region.

$6 million has been allocated in the 2021/22 budget for the program.
