Roadworks signage

In the 2021/22 financial year, numerous road upgrades will be undertaken across the Region including the following:

 

Nukku Road, Crows Nest upgrade

Subsidised by the Transport Infrastructure Development Scheme (TIDS), this project will upgrade the remaining unsealed section of the Crows Nest Blackbutt link to a standard two-lane seal road. This project has been staged over two years with the concept and design work finalised in 2021/21 and the construction scheduled for 2021/22.

$2.6 million has been allocated to this project in 2021/22.

November 2021.

Target completion date

June 2022.

 

Dalby Nungil Road, Irvingdale upgrade

A budget of $3.3 million has been allocated to this project in 2021/22. The project will upgrade 4km of single-lane section of road to a two-lane road from the Toowoomba Regional Council boundary east for 4km.

This project is jointly funded with Heavy Vehicle Safety and Productivity Program (HSVPP) funding from the Australian Government and Transport Infrastructure Development Scheme (TIDS) from the Queensland Government.

The project has been staged over two years with the concept and design work finalised in 2021/21 and the construction scheduled for 2021/22.

June 2022.

 

Bowenville Moola Road upgrade

A budget of $3.3 million has been allocated to the Stage 2 & 3 projects in 2021/22.

Stage 2 is subsidised with HSVPP funding from the Australian Government, a budget of $2.2 million has been allocated to complete the upgrade in 2021/22. This project will see the upgrade of approximately 2.5km of a single-lane section of road between Myall Creek and Dalby Nungil Road (east) to a two-lane road. Staged over two years, the concept and design work has been finalised in 2020/21 and construction scheduled to be undertaken in 2021/22

The Stage 3 project is to undertake the scheduled upgrade of the Mcinnerneys Rd intersection in 20021/22 following the 2.5 km upgrade of the Bowenville Moola from the Dalby Nungil Road completed in 2020/21

Oakey Biddeston Road upgrade

Allocated a budget of $2.2 million in 2021/22, this project to upgrade the Oakey Biddeston Road from the Warrego Highway to Oakey Creek is subsidised under the HSVPP scheme.

The project will include the reconstruction and widening of the existing road pavement and new culvert supply and installation. Concept and design work has been finalised in 2020/21 with the construction scheduled for completion 2021/22.
