Toowoomba CBD CCTV camera

In the 2024/25 budget, $450,000 has been allocated to replace and upgrade CCTV systems and other asset security. Major areas of works will be:

  • Parks and public toilets - increased installation of cameras to reduce vandalism, loitering, anti-social behaviour and graffiti.
  • Empire Theatre precinct - installation of the same system used at most Council sites and integration of the CCTV system.
  • Water infrastructure sites, including Mt Kynoch, Wetalla and dam pump stations - upgrading both CCTV and electronic asset protections.
  • Community safety CCTV - expanding and improving the coverage in the Toowoomba Safe Night Precinct and across the regions. Software and hardware additions will be added to improve search, review and alert capacity in response to incidents and vehicle monitoring on behalf of QPS.
