The Oakey Historical Museum Society Inc. preserves and displays some of the Oakey districts most treasured historical items and resources which highlight a rich and diverse history and a glimpse into how people lived and worked years ago.

The Museum features a historic slab hut which is over 150 years old. Also featured is a cast bronze stockman and his dog mounted on granite blocks outside the old slab hut as a testament to the pioneering spirit of days long ago.
