Cooby Dam wall picnic area is one of two picnic areas located in the Cooby Dam area. The area, which can be accessed from Pipeline Road, provides a quiet spot to enjoy the Australian bush with walking tracks, picnic shelters and free gas barbecue facilities overlooking the lake.
There is no water access for boating from this location - it is a picnic area only. Boat access is available from Loveday Cove.
Alcohol is not permitted at this location.
At certain times, these facilities may be closed to the public. When this happens, the road access gate will be closed at the end of Pipeline Road. You can check the current open or closed status here.
The Dam Wall picnic area is open 6am to 8pm (September to April) and from 7am to 6pm (May to August).

Classification: Grade 3
Distance: 4,422m one way
Walking time: 90 minutes
Description: The walk is mainly easy, with a moderate climb in the middle. The lake is water supply for the Toowoomba Region and is a habitat with waterbirds and rich population of bush birds, particularly along the trail. If you sit quietly you may be able to also see a wide range of wildlife including koalas, possums, echidna and wallabies.
