The community rooms in the Toowoomba City Library are modern, air-conditioned meeting rooms, able to be booked by any organisation or community group, with prices to suit different categories of users.

We offer our venues at different rates for different types of bookings - commercial or non-commercial.

  • Commercial: a user whose primary function is to generate a commercial profit or who operates as a business.
  • Non-Commercial: community organisations that are incorporated or unincorporated do not operate for a profit. Charities registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC).

Note: a business, government or other entity that is providing a community benefit or not generating a profit from the hire of the community rooms is NOT considered a not-for-profit organisation.


Located in the heart of Toowoomba’s CBD, the meeting rooms at the City Library offers a range of modern, air-conditioned spaces.   Able to be booked by any organisation or community groups, with prices to suit different categories of users, these spaces are part of Council’s vision to provide facilities that foster community inclusion and development.

Meeting Rooms Available:

  • Small meeting rooms, seats 2 – 5
  • General meeting rooms, seats 8 – 12
  • Multipurpose room, seats 16 – 50
  • Seminar room single, seats 16 – 45
  • Seminar room double, seats 36 – 110
  • Seminar room full, seats 54 – 140.

Capacity is dependant on room set up selected.

Room details:

  • Equipment – Projector, tables, chairs, lectern, whiteboards, HDMI/VGA cords available.
  • Parking is not included in your booking however, there are limited restricted undercover car parking located on level 1 (3 hour max).
  • Accessibility – wheelchair accessible and hearing loop enabled.
  • Tea and coffee can be provided at an additional charge.

The information provided below is indicative only and may change. The number of people able to fit in a room will vary depending on your chosen room set-up (eg theatre, boardroom, classroom etc).

Facilities available in the community rooms:

  • room hire is inclusive of use of all equipment in the rooms
  • the City Library building is wheelchair accessible
  • limited free undercover car parking located on site (3 hours max) and paid all day parking available close by at Water/Herries Street car park
  • connector HDMI and VGA cables available to be loaned to connect your own laptop to the projectors
  • Access can be provided to 45 mins of public wifi available per device per day
  • Tea and coffee service can be added to your booking for an additional charge.
