The Shop Top Living Design Guide – an opportunity to grow inner-city residential living!
The Toowoomba City Centre Master Plan (TCCMP) identified the significant economic and community benefits for growing inner-city living across the CBD.
Growing inner-city living also has the advantage of enabling residents to conveniently access employment, retail, entertainment, dining and public transport, whilst benefitting from the wider amenity of the CBD such as parks, laneways, public art and realm. It improves sustainability and promotes smart city innovations and less reliance on car ownership, such as mobility as a service, and ride and vehicle-share options.
Shop top living provides an opportunity for the Toowoomba CBD to bring new life back into vacant spaces, enabling residents to also live in character and heritage buildings which differentiate the city from other regional centres.
