Queensland Youth Week 2021 – Free youth programs

Queensland Youth Week (10–18 April) is an annual celebration of young peopled aged 12–25 and everything they contribute to our community.

To celebrate the passion, energy and achievements of our young people, we're proud to be delivering a huge program of free activities across our beautiful Region:

  • Art workshops
  • Laser skirmish, cricket and AFL activities
  • Circus workshops
  • Toowoomba Mayoral Skateboarding Competition
  • Scooter and skateboarding workshops.

COVID-19 Restrictions – In accordance with the latest directives from Queensland Health, all program attendees over 12 years of age must:

  • carry a mask at all times
  • wear masks for indoor activities
  • wear masks for outdoor activities when unable to socially distance.

We are closely monitoring recent COVID-19 developments. All the latest information on our programs—including any cancellations—will be published on Facebook.

Hosted by the Australian Skateboarding Community Initiative, the Mayoral Skateboarding Competition allows for all young skateboarders to showcase their skills and compete for cash, prizes and, of course, the title.

To celebrate Queensland Youth Week in Oakey, we've partnered with Darling Downs and West Moreton PHN to deliver a range of activities for young people in the Oakey community:

  • Friday Night Live – laser skirmish, games and indoor sports
  • Scooter and skateboarding workshops – free lessons and mini-competition.

The Home Project – Free Online Workshops

We’re proud to present The Home Project – a free online program to help young people and their families stay creative, active and connected.

The Home Project is a free resource for the use of any organisations in our Region working with children, young people and families. In addition to the online workshops, each arts project comes with a supplementary worksheet for young people and families with limited internet access.
