Toowoomba Regional Council is making it easier than ever for families to enjoy two of the city’s biggest festive celebrations, the Triple M Mayoral Carols by Candlelight and Toowoomba’s New Years Eve in Queens Park, with the ‘Bus It Free! to Events Trial’ running to and from key locations.

Forget the hassle of finding a park, battling traffic or walking long distances, just jump on a free event bus and let the festivities begin stress-free! They will run from key locations to and from Queens Park on Sunday 14 December for the Mayoral Carols and Wednesday 31 December for NYE.

Toowoomba Region Mayor Geoff McDonald said the ‘Bus It Free! to Events Trial’ will make these two iconic community events even more accessible and enjoyable.

“These fun family events are at the heart of our festive season and are now easier than ever to attend. The free shuttle buses mean no parking stress, no traffic headaches, and a safer way to celebrate with family and friends,” Mayor McDonald said.

“There’s no need for attendees to book a ticket, simply check the timetable on Council’s website, head to your nearest pick-up point, and hop on a special event bus to get to and from Queens Park for the Mayoral Carols and NYE. It’s that easy!” Mayor McDonald said.

The ‘Bus It Free! to Events Trial’ will run to and from Queens Park for both events utilising the bus zone on Margaret Street for set down and pick up.

Triple M Mayoral Carols by Candlelight

Sunday 14 December at Frogs Hollow, Queens Park

Pre-show from 4pm and Main Carols from 6pm

Toowoomba New Year’s Eve Family Fireworks

Wednesday 31 December at Frogs Hollow, Queens Park

4pm to 8pm

Bus It Free! to Events Trial Routes:

  • Start Wilsonton Plaza (stop # 880885) with pick up and drop off at Clifford Gardens (stop # 880849) and Grand Central (stop # 880867);
  • Start Highfields Village Shopping Centre (stop #880104) with pick up and drop off at Harlaxton State School opp Northpoint (stop # 880504);
  • Start UniSQ (stop # 880218) with pick up and drop off at Kingfisher Villas (stop # 880622) and Toowoomba Plaza (stop # 880202).

No bookings required, just turn up and ride!
