This $3.11 million project focuses on duplicating the current critical single gravity sewer that transports sewage to the inlet works of the Wetalla Water Reclamation Facility (WRF). The new sewer with an approximate length of 860m will provide redundancy to critical elements of the network immediately upstream of the WRF. Additional capacity for growth will also be provided.
Funding of $3.45 million for the upgrade of the Wetalla WRF inlet works will provide for additional inlet capacity and redundancy, replacement of the current inlet screens, provision of a relocated emergency overflow configuration and includes new monitoring and control systems.
The completed works will provide superior management of sewage flows and preliminary treatment operations, as well as emergency overflow scenarios.
