Perseverance Dam pump station

A number of major projects are planned at Council's main water supply dams, Cooby, Perseverance and Cressbrook Dams; to upgrade aged water pumping infrastructure and raw water mains to the Kynoch Water Treatment Plant.

This project, estimated to cost $7 million with $3 million allocated in 2017/18, is to replace and upgrade aged and damaged pumping infrastructure at Perseverance Dam.

Start date

Expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced contractors will be invited at the start of the 2017/18 financial year.

Target completion date

Design, supply, installation and commissioning of the pumping installation is expected mid 2018, subject to contractor engagement and timelines.

This project, estimated to cost $1.5 million is to replace and upgrade aged switchboards to meet current standards. $0.8 million has been allocated to this project in 2017/18.

Start date

Project work will commence at the start of the 2017/18 financial year.

Target completion date

Design, supply, installation and commissioning of the switchboard installation is expected late 2018, subject to contractor timelines.

Works on dam raw water mains includes $200,000 for ongoing programmed surface treatment of the elevated section of the raw water main from Cooby Dam to the Kynoch Water Treatment Plant.

Funding of $0.5 million has been allocated in 2017/18 for the ongoing program of maintaining, rehabilitating or replacing sections of raw water mains from Council's water supply dams. Allocations for this program are usually on a two-yearly basis, however as a result of project staging it is envisaged a further $1 million will be allocated for project specific work in 2018/19.  

Start date

Planning work for this projects will commence immediately, with programmed work expected to commence by December 2017.

Target completion date

Some raw water mains project work will be completed by June 2018, however staged projects funded over two financial years are expected to extend through to December 2018.
