Medium level (200 litres/person/day) - Brookstead, Cambooya, Cecil Plains, Clifton, Greenmount, Hodgson Vale (includes Top Camp), Pittsworth, Southbrook, Vale View & Yarraman schemes.
Continuation of permanent conservation measures (200 litres/person/day) - Toowoomba Bulk Water Supply Scheme (Oakey, Jondaryan, Haden, Crows Nest, Highfields, Kingsthorpe, Gowrie Junction, Meringandan, Toowoomba City, Westbrook and Goombungee)
A new sewage pump station in Lorrimer Street, Oakey will replace the existing and aged station.
This project is part of the planned upgrade of sewerage infrastructure in Oakey in a staged approach. Budget was allocated in the 2017/18 financial year to commence the project and over $1.5 million has been allocated in the 2018/19 financial year. Subject to future budget allocations a number of pump stations and associated gravity and rising main upgrades are planned in future years. This will better manage the sewage network and minimise the risk of environmental harm and nuisance from sewage overflows.
The project has already started with the design phase. Construction and associated work will commence after July 2018.
