Kerbside waste collection is regularly being expanded to include properties that have previously not been in the designated collection area. As part of the collection contract, a separate project to provide turnarounds for our collection vehicles is also being undertaken.
More information will be provided here as these projects progress.
Safe turnaround project - Tarlington Street, Middle Ridge
The safe operation and management of waste collection services is a priority for us and to improve safety we have identified local streets where currently waste collection vehicles do not have adequate turning circles and therefore reversing of waste collection vehicles may pose a risk to the safety of local residents. We are working towards reducing this risk by installing safe turnaround areas in streets around the region.
One of the streets identified is Tarlington Street in Middle Ridge. To improve the waste collection service safety, a cul-de-sac will be constructed within the existing road reserve that backs onto the Neilson Nature Reserve.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused during construction.
Construction of the cul-de-sac is expected to commence 29 May (weather permitting).
Construction is expected to take 2-3 weeks.
