A total budget of $2.39 million has been allocated to numerous footpath, cycleway and kerb upgrade projects throughout the Region. More than $700,000 will be invested in the construction of new footpaths and the replacement of existing footpaths with major defects in regional areas. Rural townships will benefit from an investment of more than $500,000 for the replacement and upgrade of existing roadside kerbs and drainage structure.
A few of the projects planned for this financial year are listed below.
Eton Street, Cambooya footpath upgrade - The missing link of the Eton Street footpath, from Lucy Street to Russell Street, will be completed. $65,000 has been allocated for this project.
Haden Crows Nest Road, Haden footpath upgrade - The missing link of the Haden Crows Nest Road footpath, from George Street to Boundary Street, will be completed. $40,000 has been allocated for this project.
Mt Tyson Road, Mt Tyson footpath upgrade - An allocation of $100,000 will go towards a new footpath to fill a missing link from Side Street to Jondaryan Mt Tyson Road.
Station Road, Jondaryan footpath upgrade - The missing footpath link from Warrego Highway to Grant Road will be completed with $45,000 allocated to the project.
Campbell Street, Oakey footpath renewal - Large sections of the path along Campbell Street from Lorrimer Street to the swimming pool require renewal. This financial year, $250,000 has been allocated to complete the project.
East Street, Clifton kerb & pavement renewal - Approximately 600 metres of existing uneven kerb and damaged pavement on East Street between Clark Street and Victoria Street requires renewal. A budget allocation of $300,000 has been assigned.
John Street, Oakey kerb & channel renewal - A budget of $200,000 has been allocated to remove and replace the kerb and channel in John Street.
