Lake Perseverance has been closed to all users, except people wishing to walk and picnic around the lake, as a precautionary move due to elevated numbers of E.Coli bacteria. Regular monitoring will be undertaken and the dam will be reopened when bacteria numbers return to acceptable levels.

Canoeing and water skiing on Lake Perseverance is only available to the Perseverance Aquatic Club and those participating in organised activities conducted through the Lake Perseverance Centre. Operated by the Queensland Government Department of Justice and Attorney General, the centre is part of the department’s facilities that provide youth oriented adventure-based learning activities.

Other groups, including schools, can apply* to use the facilities which include accommodation, a conference room, an outdoor multipurpose court, a sports oval, canoes and archery equipment. *Approval is considered on a case-by-case basis.
